As we get ready to celebrate Independence Day in the United States, I can't help but think of what this freedom means to me.
In September of 1999, right before the Y2K, I became a U.S. citizen, it was a dream come true for me. Even though I still miss and love my home country of Paraguay dearly, I started achieving my dreams in the United States of America and I'm thankful for that.
Every Independence Day while watching the fireworks on display I shed a few tears of joy for many reasons, for what freedom represents to me.
Happy Independence Day United States of America!!!!
Let's not forget all those who fought for our freedom and those who are protecting us far away from home!
